Conflict resolution for groups that want a solution, not a judgment

For families, businesses, organizations, teams, and collaborators.

I work with groups – business partners, neighbors, creative collaborators, families, and teams and organizations of all kinds.

I can help you work together to resolve a conflict, navigate a transition, have a difficult conversation, make a big decision, or improve your communication and become a stronger team.  Whether you’re on the verge of going your separate ways, tired of dealing with the same old issues over and over again, or hoping to prevent future conflicts, I’d love to work with you.

Examples of groups that I work with:

  • start-up companies
  • art, music, and other creative collaborators
  • business partners or others who have a specific dispute to resolve or a general desire to collaborate more productively
  • friends, families, and neighbors
  • co-workers who need help getting along or working more efficiently together
  • family businesses where personal and business issues overlap
  • clubs and organizations that need help coming together for a common purpose

Services can include:

  • mediation to resolve specific disputes
  • group sessions for communication and problem solving
  • communication/conflict coaching and training
  • conflict prevention through regular “office hours” on a monthly or quarterly basis

For individuals:

I offer individual conflict coaching sessions to help people who are dealing with an ongoing conflict in their work or personal lives.

Conflict coaching can help you:

  • get to the root of the issue
  • learn new communication strategies
  • become a more effective listener and communicator within your conflict and outside of it.

For lawyers and parties to lawsuits:

I help lawyers and parties settle disputes that can’t be litigated cost effectively, whether that cost is money, time, relationships, reputation, or any of the many other important things that can be lost in our court system.  I have had great success settling cases before litigation or early in litigation.

Sessions can be live (depending on location and safety) or virtual.

I grew up in Massachusetts, where I graduated from college with a degree in English and a minor in Psychology.  I moved to California to go to law school at Pepperdine University, drawn by the beautiful view, good weather, and the dispute resolution program.  I’ve always been interested in communication, conflict, and negotiation, and I loved the idea of being a mediator.

I received a certificate in dispute resolution with my law degree and began practicing law with my husband.  We opened our practice right out of school, and we’re still in business ten years later, primarily handling business disputes, legal and accounting malpractice cases, and appeals.  Along the way, I was lucky enough to be able to go back to school part time to finish my Master’s Degree in Dispute Resolution.
